It's the moment we've all been waiting for: banner-raising night at Agganis.  The teams have taken the ice for warm-ups.  Some things to keep an eye on tonight:

  • U18 forward #19 Matt Nieto and defenseman #5 Adam Clendening have both verbally committed to BU, slated to arrive on campus next season.  David Warsofsky, Colby Cohen, Vinny Saponari,  Luke Popko and Kevin Shattenkirk were all products of the development team, and all have played integral roles as Terriers throughout their careers.
  • This is the fourth meeting between the two teams, with the Terriers holding a 3-0 mark against the U18 squad.  The last time they met was Dec. 8, 2007, when the Terriers won 3-2.
  • Several teams kicked off their seasons this week, and with them came some shocking upsets.  Alabama-Huntsville shocked #5 Notre Dame, 3-2, sticking it to the CCHA in the process after the program was denied entry into the league after this season.  #14 Vermont took #1 Denver to the brink before the Pioneers escaped with a 5-4 victory.  #4 Miami took down #15 St. Cloud State 3-2 in overtime, while #3 Michigan was dealt a 2-0  upset blow by unranked Alaska Anchorage.
Stay tuned to wtbusports.com for coverage of tonight's game.
