Know Your Enemy: The Huskies
- The Huskies have not played in 13 days, but last time they took the ice they did not fare well. They traveled to UNH on Oct. 23 and UMass-Lowell the next night, and lost both games.
- Junior Wade MacLeod (2g, 2a), freshman Garret Vermeersch (2g, 2a) and senior Chris Donovan (1g, 3a) are the early team leaders in points with four each.
- Northeastern is trying to replace last year's junior phenom and Hobey Baker finalist Brad Thiessen in net. Freshman Chris Rawlings has started all five contests and has a respectable .911 save percentage and a less-impressive 3.02 goals-against average.
- The Huskies are coached by Greg Cronin, who in his fifth season behind the bench has a 59-75-19 mark and is looking for his 60th victory tonight.
- The Terriers have played the Huskies more times than any other school not named Boston College in its history. The Terriers have dominated the all-time series by a 144-50-8 margin. BU has not lost at Matthews Arena since 2000.
- David Warsofsky is inactive tonight, recovering from a hip-flexor injury he suffered in last Saturday's home loss against UMass-Lowell.
- Junior forward Nick Bonino leads all active Terriers in points against the Huskies with six (4g, 2a). Bonino is still inactive while recovering from a dislocated shoulder injury.
- Five of senior forward Luke Popko's 22 career assists have come against the Huskies. Junior defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk also has 5 assists against Northeastern.
- Sophomore netminder Kieran Millan was exceptional against the Huskies last season, posting a 1.20 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage in four starts against Northeastern.
- Last season, the Terriers went 1-0-2 against Northeastern in the regular series, taking an early season 3-0 shutout win against the Huskies before settling with a draw both nights in a pivotal home-and-home series later in the season. The Terriers went on to defeat Northeastern 5-2 in the Beanpot championship game.
